CONGRESS OUTLINE
Occupational Therapy(OT) is a field that is currently on the rise in this era along side with other branches of health sciences. Through the expanding of knowledge, OT is now one of the fastest growing field that fulfills the health needs of the people globally.
This profession began in 1958 which started at Pusat Kusta (Leprosy Centre) Sungai Buloh, Malaysia up until 2012. There are approximately 800 people involved in this profession. OT has given many services at both local and private rehabilitation centres, government and private hospitals, and the community.
The sharing of ideas and practices should be initiated as both the profession and the clients may benefit from this act. Hence, the Occupational Therapy Students' Association or better known as Persatuan Pelajar Pemulihan Carakerja (PPPCK) is proud to present the "Malaysian Asia Pacific Occupational Therapy Students' Congress (MAP OTScore 2013)" as an act of initiative in expanding the networks of occupational therapists all over Asia pacific which in turn may help improve the quality of occupational therapists in Malaysia. This congress also allows a chance for students and professionals of Occupational Therapy to share their related knowledge whilst benefiting from the congress itself.
In addition, MAP OTScore 2013 acts as a relevant and competitive measure for students that have tolerance and competitiveness within themselves. Thus, PPPCK truly hopes this congress may gain the support from the Ministry of Higher Education.

CONGRESS THEME
"Revolution in Occupational Therapy: Enduring New Generation" was chosen as the congress theme for the MAP OTScore 2013 as the profession itself is growing tremendously since after the world war II. For this year's MAP OTScore, we have chosen the Asian Paradise Flycatcher as our congress mascot, which not only symbolises the expanding of the profession as represented by the bird's nature of migration, but also represents longevity and a new generation that moves alongside with the hope that this new generation of OT will continue to provide their services and change the world. Hence, it is an added bonus if students gain an early exposure regarding knowledge related to this field for the benefit of the future.
